And the fate of the world is decided…
“President Barack Obama hosts a working dinner during the G8 Summit at Camp David. Seated clockwise from the President are: Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of Russia, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda of Japan, Prime Minister Mario Monti of Italy, Prime Minister Stephen Harper of Canada, and President François Hollande of France.”
Good News of The Day: Rick Santorum ends his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.
For those of you not paying attention to anything; that leaves Mitt Romney, the man Fox News deemed “unfit to be president” (Yes, really), as the clear candidate in the 2012 race against President Obama.
This is going to get interesting…

The US government sponsored private army originally known as “Blackwater”, has had quite a few issues regarding their conduct in Iraq. From the videos below, it’s easy to see why.
Fair warning: the following videos contain images of soldiers shooting randomly at Iraqi civilians, and a man being run over by a Blackwater armored vehicle.

In lighter news: here’s a video of President Obama meeting an 8th grader named Joey at the White House Science Fair. The two launch a marshmallow across the State Dining Room of the White House with Joey’s science project - an air cannon.
With the Iowa Caucus upon us, you might want to take a look at “Iowa Nice”.

“Today I have signed into law H.R. 1540, the “National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012.” I have signed the Act chiefly because it authorizes funding for the defense of the United States and its interests abroad, crucial services for service members and their families, and vital national security programs that must be renewed. In hundreds of separate sections totaling over 500 pages, the Act also contains critical Administration initiatives to control the spiraling health care costs of the Department of Defense (DoD), to develop counterterrorism initiatives abroad, to build the security capacity of key partners, to modernize the force, and to boost the efficiency and effectiveness of military operations worldwide.
The fact that I support this bill as a whole does not mean I agree with everything in it. In particular, I have signed this bill despite having serious reservations with certain provisions that regulate the detention, interrogation, and prosecution of suspected terrorists. Over the last several years, my Administration has developed an effective, sustainable framework for the detention, interrogation and trial of suspected terrorists that allows us to maximize both our ability to collect intelligence and to incapacitate dangerous individuals in rapidly developing situations, and the results we have achieved are undeniable. Our success against al-Qa’ida and its affiliates and adherents has derived in significant measure from providing our counterterrorism professionals with the clarity and flexibility they need to adapt to changing circumstances and to utilize whichever authorities best protect the American people, and our accomplishments have respected the values that make our country an example for the world.”
-Barack Obama
Mr. President, if you have “serious reservations” about a bill, you DON’T SIGN IT.
